Full-Size iPad Featuring Upgraded FaceTime Camera To Launch At 'iPad mini' Event?

October 23, 2012
Apple is expected to announce a new, small-size iPad at its forthcoming special event. But that doesn't mean the company's 9.7-Inch tablet isn't going to get upgraded, too. In fact, according to Boy Genius Report, we could see a refreshed full-size iPad launch at the "iPad mini" event, which might feature an improved, upgraded FaceTime camera. Pointing towards the above part, the website notes that such an upgraded FaceTime camera could launch either with the purported refreshed third-gen iPad, or with a forth-generation iPad next year. BGR notes:
The most noticeable changes we can see are the fact that the front-facing camera cutout is larger than the previous model, allowing Apple to include a bigger sensor.
It's likely that if this is the case, Apple will add the 1.2 megapixel FaceTime HD camera to its line of iPads. Though of course, we aren't going to know anything for sure until Apple makes the announcement itself. Check back with us at 12 noon EDT for our pre-show coverage of Apple's iPad mini event.
