CES 2013: The Zooka Bluetooth Speaker Does More Than Just Play Music

January 14, 2013
Not surprisingly, CES 2013 in Las Vegas had a large number of wireless Bluetooth speakers on display. But the Carbon Audio’s Zooka offers something more. Along with being a nice-sounding the speaker, it can easily double as a stand for either an iPad or iPad mini. Made of silicone that securely and safely grips the tablet, users also have easy access to the power, volume, and Bluetooth controls. A removable peg stand hold an iPad in either landscape or portrait orientation. The built-in wideband microphone also allows the speaker to be used with FaceTime or Skype calls. The speaker can go for up to eight hours before needing to be recharged. A 3.5mm input jack also lets users connect non-Bluetooth devices. AppAdvice’s Dom Esposito got a hands-on look at the speaker last week during the show. Click here if you can’t see the video. The speaker retails for $99.95 and can be found at numerous retailers, including Apple’s online store. Hopefully you’ll be able to find the perfect color as it is available in pink, black, gray, green, blue, orange, or red.
