The universal productivity app CloudOn has recently been updated to version 4.0. CloudOn 4.0 brings a number of improvements, most of which are exclusive to its iPhone and iPod touch edition.

When the previously iPad-only app expanded with universal support for iPhone and iPod touch, my colleague Casey observed:

Unfortunately, there is one limitation. As of now, the small screen UI is restricted to portrait orientation, making it a bit tougher to enter text. However, this may be temporary and isn’t a deal breaker.

Fortunately, said limitation was indeed only temporarily.

CloudOn 4.0 has gotten rid of that shortcoming. Now, you can view and edit files in landscape mode on your iPhone or iPod touch as well as on your iPad.

Additionally, the new version of CloudOn introduces a new login and sign-up flow for its iPhone and iPod touch edition. Also, it adds a new Files page on the same edition of the app for easier file navigation.

Finally, and universally, CloudOn 4.0 lets you access the FileSpace from your Recent Files list.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, CloudOn 4.0 is available now in the App Store for free.
