Match-three games are a dime a dozen in the App Store. As a matter of fact, a lot of them are free. Fortunately, there are some that do stand out. One of these is the chart-topping Candy Crush Saga. Another is the “spellbinding” Supermagical. Yet another is the recently released Monster Defense.
What makes Monster Defense a cut above most of the other match-three games for iOS is that it delightfully combines match-three with tower defense:
Cast powerful magic spells to hold your defense against hordes of attacking monsters. Combine the magic pieces to strike down zombies, vampires, ghosts, mummies and werewolves! Defeat gigantic bosses! Just beat it!
In the game, you have to defend yourself from waves and waves of monsters by making combinations of elements on your puzzle board.
Combining two pieces just makes them disappear. But combining three or more pieces makes them disappear and aims a defensive spell at the oncoming creatures.
As usual with this type of games nowadays, power-ups and skill upgrades are available to help you as you progress.
