See It To Believe It: Glasses.com For iPad Lets You Virtually Try On Eyeglasses

Shopping for a new pair of spectacles on glasses.com has just become easier with the newly released glasses.com app for iPad. With glasses.com for iPad, you can virtually try on different kinds of glasses and sunglasses with frames from various brands, including Burberry, Maui Jim, Oakley, Ray-Ban, and Versace. First and foremost, the app generates a 3-D model of your head from a few shots taken with your iPad's camera. Once your very own 3-D rendering is ready, you can:
  • See thousands of frames rendered on your face in 3D.
  • Turn your head to see glasses or sunglasses from any angle.
  • Adjust the glasses up or down your nose or over your ears – just like real glasses.
  • Share your favorite styles and ask friends to vote on what looks best on you
To see the app in action, check out the demo video below: If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Like the website itself, the glasses.com app is brought to us by 1-800 Contacts, whose official app called 1800Contacts App has been in the App Store since May last year. As to what pushed it to release glasses.com for iPad, 1-800 Contacts says:
We understand when you’re shopping for glasses it isn’t about finding glasses that look good, it’s about finding glasses that look good on you. Glasses.com for iPad is the most innovative, delightful way to find glasses or sunglasses that look good on you.
Compatible with iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, the official glasses.com app is available now in the App Store for free. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
