Apple Now Hiring 'Genre Experts' To Help With iTunes Radio

In an attempt to further improve its iTunes Radio service, Apple is said to be hiring "genre experts" who are "passionate about discovering exciting new music and artists."
The news comes from CNET, who explains that candidates for Apple's role are expected to have an expert-level of knowledge concerning the present-day music business, and to possess a minimum of five years experience in an appropriate role related to this expertise.
Genre experts would be involved with the programming of "Featured Stations" in iTunes Radio, which offer a curated selection of tracks in the iTunes desktop app, the iOS Music app, and on Apple TVs.
As such, it's expected that this so-called "human touch" will give iTunes Radio the edge over its competitors, which rely on algorithms to recommend music for users. Just as the App Store offers iDevice owners hand-picked "Featured" iOS apps, so will iTunes Radio present a selection of songs recommended by Apple itself.
As a reminder, iTunes Radio is set to launch on Sept. 18 alongside iTunes 11.1, iOS 7, and a new software update for the Apple TV.
