AT&T recently announced that it was adding 14 new LTE markets, bringing its total to 461 cities and towns in the United States. In doing so, the second largest carrier is just 39 markets short of catching Verizon’s 500-city 4G footprint. On Wednesday, AT&T added:
  • Peoria, Illinois
  • Macomb, Illinois
  • St. Cloud, Minnesota
  • Big Spring , Texas
  • Des Moines, Iowa
  • Cumberland, Maryland
  • Winchester, Virginia
  • Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
  • Fairbanks, Alaska
  • St. Joseph, Missouri
  • Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina
  • Madisonville, Kentucky
  • Galesburg, Illinois
  • Maysville, Kentucky
The carrier hopes to cover 270 million people with LTE by the end of the year. By the end of 2014, the company plans to complete its entire 4G LTE network rollout.
