ComiXology Announces A Security Breach, What You Need To Do

March 6, 2014
Digital comic book seller ComiXology has announced a security breach. As a result, users must reset their passwords. In an email to users, ComiXology reveals that an “unauthorized individual” has gained access to a database that contains “usernames, email addresses, and cryptographically protected passwords.” They note that payment account information was not compromised. As a “precautionary measure,” users are now required to change their passwords across the ComiXology platform. They also recommend that users change the password “on any other website where you use the same or a similar password.” Comics by ComiXology is one of the most profitable iPad apps on the App Store. It was Apple's top-grossing non-game iPad app for 2013, a distinction it has earned for the third year running.
