Bad Apple: Some iOS device owners can't download and install apps with iOS 8
If you own an iPad Air, you probably aren’t happy about iOS 8.
For whatever the reason, some iPad Air users have been unable to update or download apps from the device after iOS 8 is installed. Unfortunately, the problem was not resolved with iOS 8.0.2, which Apple released late last week.
Apple has yet to acknowledge or address this issue, as a lively discussion on Apple’s support site shows. The only workaround that seems to work is to hook up your iPad Air to a computer and download the apps through iTunes.
User kjjmd777 perhaps says it best, when stating:
It’s odd, because the same apps that won’t update on iPad air will update on my iPhone 5s. Downloading new apps also doesn’t work on the iPad Air but does on the iPhone 5s.
I’m also suffering from this problem on my 32GB iPad Air. No matter what I have tried, I have been unable to update or download apps from the device. Things work fine on my iPhone 6 Plus using the same Wi-Fi connection and Apple ID.
This isn’t the first problem folks have been dealing with since iOS 8 was released, of course. Among the problems previously cited are slower load times in apps, a lag when connecting to Wi-Fi, and battery issues.
Hopefully, Apple is on top of all of these issues. If they are not, something is serious wrong in Cupertino, California.
We’ll continue to follow this story and let you know when Apple addresses the issue. In the meantime, we’d like to hear from our readers.
