If your Apple Watch of choice will be of the gold or stainless steel variety, there are some additional perks in the purchase process, according to a 9to5Mac report. The company will be allowing customers to virtually try on an Apple Watch or Apple Watch Edition as well as offering additional online setup support for the wearables.

Before purchasing either of the two higher-end Apple Watches, a customer will be given the opportunity to video chat with an Apple Online Store representative. That representative will personally try on various Apple Watch collection and band combinations, showing the customer what the variations look like in real life on somebody’s wrist.

Once the purchase is made, of either the stainless steel Apple Watch or the gold Apple Watch Edition, customers will be able to take advantage of a virtual personal setup process. Through the Apple Online Store, a specialist will walk the customer through unboxing the Watch, setting up the iPhone companion app, pairing the wearable with the phone via Bluetooth, as well as installing apps from the App Store.

This online virtual personal setup assistance is perfect for those who want to get in and out of the Apple Store with their Watch in hand, but not wanting to wait around for assistance setting up the device. Unfortunately, you cannot receive this service with the Apple Watch Sport at launch. The service is only available for the stainless steel and gold editions. Apple’s offer of this service is notable because it is the first time the company has offered such virtual setup assistance to customers in the U.S. Apple has provided similar services for iPhones, iPads, and Macs in certain European markets in the past, but never in the United States.

The Apple Watch preorder begins April 10, and the wearable will reach stores on April 24. While reports have stated that you won’t need a reservation to purchase an Apple Watch on launch day, it is still strongly recommended that customers preorder to get the exact combination of wearable and band they want.
