Samsung has a $200 bounty for your iPhone
Samsung just added another incentive to its “Ultimate Test Drive” program, this time putting a bounty on your iPhone. In addition to trying to persuade iPhone owners to switch to Samsung by offering them a one-month trial of an Android-powered Galaxy smartphone for $1, the Korean company will give a couple of payouts to those who end up purchasing the phone.
Those who accept the Ultimate Test Drive and decide to switch to the Samsung phone are ultimately presented with another Web page. As discovered by 9to5Mac, this Web page offers a Google Play credit of $100 for those who convert to the Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge +, or Galaxy Note 5.
In addition to the Google Play credit, those who trade in their iPhones could get a check for $100 on top of whatever their carrier pays for the handset. This is apparently the “more love in store for you” promised by the promotion’s Web page.
Those who switch to one of Samsung’s phones must do so between Aug. 13 and Dec. 31, and have until Jan. 30, 2016 to visit the Web page and complete the receipt verification process.
If that offer makes you ready to switch, however, you might be out of luck, at least for now. New visitors to the Ultimate Test Drive Web page are told, “Due to the overwhelming demand, we are temporarily out of test drive phones. Please keep checking back for available phones.”
