Adobe Photoshop on iPad Gains Healing Brush and Magic Wand

Adobe has just announced a number of new features arriving for Photoshop and Fresco on iPad in recent updates.

Adobe Photoshop is adding two familiar tools found in the desktop version – Healing Brush and Magic Wand.

WIth an Apple Pencil, you can harness Healing Brush and correct imperfections by partying with sample pixels from an image or pattern. The new pixels blend into the image. You can control diffusion, blend modes, and brush angle.

The Healing Brush is located in the healing tools on the toolbar.

Using Magic Wand, it’s easy to extract objects from a flat background, select a shape with an irregular area, or select an element with a distinct color. Magic Wand is found under the selection tools on the toolbar.

A new Canvas Projection feature will allow you to share a canvas or collaborate with other an a larger screen. You can connect an iPad to an external display with HDMI or USB-C. An see the canvas on a larger screen without the Photoshop UI. Enable the feature in the settings under General > Advanced.

The drawing app Adobe Fresco for the iPad recently gained color-based Adjustment Layers. That allows you to change and adjust colors without a permanent commitment.

Both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Fresco are available to download now on the App Store for free. Each app requires a $9.99 monthly subscription.
