Earlier this month, it emerged that Apple had quietly updated the official webpage for the Apple Watch Nike+ to indicate that the special Nike-branded edition of its new line of smart watches would be available beginning Friday, Oct. 28.

Now, in a joint press release, Apple and Nike have officially announced and confirmed the launch date of their new collaborative product. The Apple Watch Nike+, if you’ll recall, was introduced along with the other models in the new Apple Watch Series 2 in early September, with a promised “late October” release. Well, as it turns out, late October it is.

What puts the “Nike+” in “Apple Watch Nike+” is the set of features unique to the product. This includes Nike-inspired watch faces and Nike Sport Bands, which are available exclusively with Apple Watch Nike+ models and not sold separately. Most notably, there’s the new Nike+ Run Club app, which motivates runners to achieve more with the help of smart run reminders, social challenges, training data, and more.
