Music Downloads Come to Spotify’s Apple Watch App

May 21, 2021

Spotify has just updated its Apple Watch app to allow for offline music downloading.

With the feature, you can listen to music from Spotify without needing an Internet connection.

On the Apple Watch, find the music you’d like to download. When you find the playlist, album, or podcast, select the three dots and choose Download to Apple Watch. When the download is completed, you’ll see a green arrow next to the audio name.

All you need to do is connect a pair of Bluetooth headphones to the watch to start listening.

Siri support has also come to the Apple Watch version of the app. You can now say “Hey, Siri” with the command to play audio from Spotify. An voice command can also “like” music, ask what’s currently playing, and control your media settings, like volume, skip track, play, and pause.

The music download option is only for Spotify Premium subscribers.

Competing service Deezer added Apple Watch downloads earlier this week.
