Quirky App Of The Day: Rule The Office In Boss' Work: Sleepy Employee

July 28, 2013

Boss' Work: Sleepy Employee Free (Free) by Bin Chen is a simple game that’s about keeping your employees awake. I’m not sure if the room is too warm, if everyone forgot to drink their morning coffee, or if they all suffer from narcolepsy. None of your employees can seem to manage staying awake for more than a few seconds. Really, a doctor should probably examine all of them.

As a boss, it’s important to make sure that everyone is working at optimum levels. My boss plays the Nyan Cat theme song in our work chat at random moments to startle or annoy us. It scares me every time. It would certainly wake up the employees in this game.

Since you can’t blare Nyan Cat music, you’ll have to tap on your employees. Each employee that falls asleep has a thought cloud over his head filled with “Zs.” What’s hilarious is that all the employees are in the same physical position, whether they’re asleep or awake. They’re splayed over the desks like rag dolls. There’s no animation other than the thought cloud, so it looks like all of your workers have been simultaneously shocked or paralyzed.

Two or three workers sleeping on the job is admissible. Admit it. You can’t control every employee all the time. However, four sleeping employees is where you cross the line. You’re no longer an effective boss, and you lose the game.

There are two version of this game. You can download it for free, or you can purchase it for $0.99. The difference between these two versions is that the paid one doesn’t have ads.

Some games you play for a little while just to pass the time during an unexpected wait. You don’t invest hours in them, and when your iDevice fills up, they’re the first apps to be deleted. This is one of those apps. It’s fun to play for a little while, but you easily become bored with it.

Boss’ Work: Sleepy Employee is a universal app, and you can download it from the App Store for FREE or $0.99.
