NaturalMotion Announces A Special Edition Backbreaker Lite, Available For A Limited Time Only

August 3, 2010

We have another hard-hitting, fan cheering football experience for our readers to get excited about. NaturalMotion has teamed up with KFC and 4INFO’s Butter Solutions to offer iPhone and iPod touch users a free, special edition of their popular arcade style football game. Backbreaker LITE invites you to get a taste of what the full game can offer you through what they're dubbing the "KFC Doublicious Challenge" to promote the new KFC Doublicious chicken sandwich. Backbreaker LITE isn't just a stripped down version of the original game. This special lite version offers a KFC inspired "chicken dance" touchdown celebration, ten specially selected waves, a Doublicious high score leaderboard, and Facebook Connect integration. You'll get the same great rib crushing tackling, fan screaming showboating, mad dashing gameplay as the full version, including the great graphics, high impact sound effects, and breathtaking slow-motion replays. This version still allows you to customize your player's name, number and team, but you only get two teams to choose from.
“We are glad to be able to provide users with additional free content and functionality, thanks to our sponsorship relationship with 4INFO’s Butter Solutions and KFC”, said Torsten Reil, CEO of NaturalMotion. “Brand sponsorships of successful iPhone apps offer incredible reach, creating new opportunities for content providers, brands, and audiences alike.”
Backbreaker Football is all about the fierce excitement of the rush of football, literally. The concept of the game is to mad-dash the length of the field, avoiding apposing team players using the elusive juke, spin, and sprint moves. Once you've clear all of your defenders, you're free to break out the taunts and showboating to earn even more points. The full version provides a two gameplay modes (endurance and challenge), unlockable items, more team uniform choices, and more waves (rounds) for the endurance mode. Want to get an even more in-depth look at Backbreaker Football? Check out our previous review for the full scoop. As you would guess, there are plenty of advertisements within Backbreaker LITE, including a link to the paid edition of the game and for KFC products. It also may seem a tad short because the lite version is basically a trimmed down version of the endurance mode. With that said, I still found it to be more than worthy of a download. The ability to challenge Facebook friends and strive to be #1 on the leaderboard help keep you coming back for more, at least on a casual basis. Backbreaker LITE is completely free but only available for the month. The full version Backbreaker Football is on sale for 50% off, only $.99, for a limited time.
