Hackers Show Off Jailbroken Apple TV App Launcher

This has been a busy week for hackers Steve Troughton-Smith (@stroughtonsmith) and @TheMudKip. Over the past few days, the team have managed to port iOS applications to the second generation Apple TV. Although a few apps they tried ran as expected, one issue was that they appeared as pop-up windows, rather than in fullscreen. The next day, the duo corrected the problem, allowing iOS applications to run in Apple TV's 720p resolution.
It seems that the two have been hard at work. Troughton-Smith recently posted a "Quick and dirty video of the Apple TV launcher in action" on his Twitvid page. The app launcher is similar the the iOS Springboard (home screen), allowing a central hub to view and launch apps from.
There is still no word on whether or not the hack will become public, but so far progress seems solid. Hopefully, other iOS hackers will get on board and contribute to this project.
If this was available to the masses, would you jailbreak your Apple TV to use it? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
