Report: Apple Prepping Separate Podcast App

We now know why Apple eliminated podcasts in the iOS 6 version of iTunes. Come fall a new native podcast app will arriving in the App Store, according to All Things Digital. According to the report, the new app will let users discover, download, and play podcasts on the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. This isn’t the first time Apple has broken up their native apps. And definitely not the first time they've tried to push out third party apps — in this case, Downcast and Instacast. In 2011, they created a separate Video app and before that iBooks were pushed out of the iTunes app as well. We'll let you know when we hear more about the Podcast app. In the meantime, do you think this new Podcasts app will reign supreme? Source: All Things Digital
