This Week In Accessories: Environmentally Friendly iOS Device Sleeves And More

January 25, 2013
Welcome back to our look at some of the best and most interesting iOS device accessories we've seen this week. While the market has definitely calmed down from the frenzy that was CES 2013, lets take a look at some new products.

Papernomad Sleeves from Griffin

Griffin is teaming up with Papernomad to exclusively distribute the company’s environmentally friendly line of sleeves for iOS devices and MacBooks in North America. Along with looking beautiful, the sleeves from the Austrian-based company are made from a compostable composite of paper, viscose fiber, and biopolymer. Other material in the case, including the cotton stitching, hemp pull strap, and wool lining, is also organic and compostable. Budding artists should also like the fact that the sleeve can be personalized with drawings from pens, pencils, or markers. The sleeves are listed as available “soon” from Griffin. Buyers will be able to select sleeves for the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S/4, iPad, iPad mini, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro. Prices for the sleeves will range from $39.99 to $69.99. More information can be found on the company’s site.

Speaker trio from bēm wireless

First shown at CES, bēm wireless is now shipping its speaker trio. As the name implies, the system is composed of three separate speakers that share a wireless connection to its base. With a range of up to 120 feet, all three speakers can be placed in a single room or in different places around the house. Music can be controlled with any Bluetooth-enabled iOS device. Each speaker can go for up to six hours on a single charge and can be returned to the base station for wireless recharging. Touch-sensitive buttons allow for easy navigation and use. Available in black or white, the trio is $299.99 and can be purchased through bēm wireless.

Booqpad mini from Booq

Well known for its line of premium laptop bags and backpacks, Booq has just introduced a unique case for the iPad mini. The new Booqpad mini brings together the smaller tablet with a real 50-sheet notepad. The case can also hold a stylus, pen, cash, and other important documents. Designed with a reversible and symmetrical layout, both left-handed and right-handed users will be able to easily use the case. The Booqpad mini can be ordered now from Booq and will set you back $39.99. It is available in two colors – a gray jute fiber or a faux black leather exterior with a plush gray interior.
