Givit is really the video-editing app that keeps on giving as it has just been updated to version 4.0 with even more improvements.

The most significant of these improvements is the app’s new video recorder, which is now built into the editor itself. The Givit team explains this change:

No more having to leave your edit just to grab a quick shot of something. Want to throw some selfie commentary into your video? Just hit the plus button and select “Record”. But we didn’t stop there. We’ve completely reworked the recorder so you can shoot all of your videos in landscape orientation without having to rotate your phone. This means the end to those weird tall videos that get shot by accident. Use the Givit recorder and you’ll never take a bad video again, unless, that is, you’re taking video of something or someone bad.

Givit 4.0 also bears something focused on audio. Apparently the most requested improvement, music volume adjustment is now available specific to each segment. This means that you can now dial the volume of the music track of each segment up and down, independent of other segments in your video.

The latest update to Givit also features a redesigned home screen that lets you check out great videos and people you might want to follow. What’s more, the new home screen is said to be adaptive, thereby changing to accommodate your interests.

Also including bug fixes, performance optimizations, and four new animated titles, Givit 4.0 is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.

Released last October for iPhone and iPod touch, Givit gained universal support with native iPad compatibility early last month.
