A Day After Pulling The Buggy Software Update, Apple Restores Apple TV 6.0

September 24, 2013
Apple TV 6.0 has been restored by Apple, just a day after the software update was pulled by the iOS device maker. The Apple TV 6.0 software update was released last Friday, adding support for iTunes Radio, iCloud-powered AirPlay, Bluetooth 4.0, and other enhancements. It was pulled by Apple yesterday presumably after receiving reports of the update's having caused network problems and, in worse cases, "bricking" issues that rendered affected Apple TVs unusable. Fortunately, Apple has apparently fixed the buggy update, as it has made the update available again through a new version with a new build number. "The new version is labeled Apple TV Software 6.0, and it comes in at build number 11A502," notes 9to5Mac. "This is a substantial increase from [the] pulled 11A470e version." The website also provides direct download links to the software update for the second-generation and third-generation Apple TVs.
