Bring Out The Popcorn: Apple Adds New Apple TV Channel For Watching iMovie Theater

October 23, 2013
Apple has just added a new channel to Apple TV that's dedicated to one of the new major features of the updated iMovie apps for iOS and Mac: iMovie Theater. Debuting in the new versions of iMovie for iOS and iMovie for Mac, iMovie integrates with iCloud to let you watch your shared clips, movies, and trailers on all of your Apple devices, including your Apple TV:
Introducing iMovie Theater. It’s your own personal theater where you can show off the movies and trailers you’ve made. They appear as a beautiful display of movie posters, so you’ll always be the star of the show. And with iCloud, they’re automatically on all your devices, even your Apple TV.
Indeed, iMovie Theater is also built into Apple TV. As noted by MacRumors, the new iMovie Theater channel on Apple TV is activated by signing into an iCloud account that's connected to iMovie for iOS or Mac. Aside from iMovie Theater, the new versions of iMovie for iOS and Mac feature interface overhauls and a number of other enhancements. In particular, the newly updated iMovie for iOS supports split screen and picture-in-picture effects, and the newly updated iMovie for Mac includes simplified editing tools. The new versions of iMovie for iOS and iMovie for Mac are available now as free updates or as new downloads priced at $4.99 and $14.99 in the App Store and in the Mac App Store, respectively. They're also available for free for every new iOS device or Mac.
