Simply Beautiful Line-Drawing Game Blek Goes Universal For iPhone And iPod touch

January 11, 2014
Blek has gone universal, just over a month after its release in the App Store. Contrary to what its name may suggest, there nothing's repulsive about Blek. On the contrary, everything about Blek is simply beautiful. And that goes for its gameplay as well as for its graphics. In Blek, your goal is simple. Draw a line that repeats itself so that it collects all of the colored circles while avoiding all of the black holes along its way, like so: If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. As shown in its trailer above, Blek was initially optimized for iPad and iPad mini only. But with its just-issued first ever update, the game has gained universal support and been optimized for iPhone and iPod touch as well. Note, though, that even as Blek is now universal, game progress syncing is not supported across devices. This is because the level design in the new iPhone/iPod touch edition is different from that in the original iPad/iPad mini version — made so apparently to make allowances for the smaller screen. Also including various fixes and improvements, the new universal version of Blek is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $2.99 download. The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later. For more information on Blek, check out my colleague Christine's original review here on AppAdvice. "Watching your lines come to life on the screen is quite a magical experience in and of itself, so when you see it actually collect the dots in one go, it’s quite an accomplishment," the review reads in part. "I can definitely sit back with this one for hours and still find it mystically entertaining." [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
