Wordrop Goes 2.0 With New Game Modes, Leaderboards, Achievements And More

July 3, 2014

Wordrop, the fun word-based puzzle game we reviewed some time ago, has received a big update bringing a slew of new content to the $2.99 iPad application.

Now, the “game of letters” offers iPad owners a total of four brand new game modes, all of which are available to access from inside the same application. Plus, Game Center-based leaderboards, achievements, and challenges have made an appearance in Wordrop 2.0, too, allowing players to put a social spin on the puzzler.

The app has also been completely rewritten as of version 2.0, and it should perform better under iOS 6 and iOS 7. Finally, it’s adopted a lighter, brighter redesign that’s more in-keeping with Cupertino’s most recent iteration of its mobile OS.

Our original review of Wordrop praised the app, explaining that “it’s like a version of Letterpress that constantly introduces new letters and eliminates the need for an opponent.”

We added:

If you’re tired of how repetitive word games have become as of late, you’ll definitely want to check this one out.

The app’s 2.0 update, however, means Wordrop is now better than ever.

As mentioned, Wordrop 2.0 can be downloaded for $2.99 on the App Store, and it’s optimized for the iPad only (requiring iOS 6.0 or above).
