News becomes more personal with Circa News 3.0 for iOS 8

September 24, 2014

The “biggest update” to Circa News is now available on the App Store. Version 3.0 of the popular news app includes a number of new features, and also adds iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus support.

Available for free, the iPhone app now includes Wire, a new area where you’ll see a personalized Daily Brief from the Circa News editorial team. This is also the area where you’ll see updates to the stories you may already be following.

With the new update, you also have the ability to filter breaking news alerts. For example, you may only want to receive alerts when they relate to U.S. politics and Offbeat News. Circa 3.0 also includes the ability to customize topics, and (finally) adds a search tool.

Other new features include:

New ways to share

  • Highlight any text you’d like to share and it will pop that text right in the message, with a link directly to that point!
  • Now supporting iOS 8 sharing – any app that has external sharing features will now show up such as Instapaper, Tumblr, and Flipboard.

New sounds!

  • We’ve teamed up again with Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer BT (https://twitter.com/bt), to produce a high quality suite of sounds that would fit perfectly with our new experience.
