Yahoo Mail for iOS takes on Google Now with new travel and event notifications
Yahoo Mail for iOS has just been updated with neat new capabilities that appear to take on some of the key features of Google Now: travel and event notifications.
With the latest update to the official iOS app of Yahoo’s email service, Yahoo helps to ensure that you’re always set for your next flight and event.
Now, you can visit the Today section of Yahoo Mail for iOS to view your upcoming flight details and get real-time updates on fight status changes (on time, delayed, or canceled). You can also quickly access options to get directions to the airport, call the airline to rebook your flight, or go to the airline’s website for more information.
What’s more, as soon as you arrive at your destination, Yahoo Mail offers suggestions from Yelp for the top restaurants and attractions in the area.
Moreover, Yahoo Mail now lets you quickly see upcoming events from Eventbrite, Evite, and Ticketmaster, and get directions to the venues.
The app also lets you share your flight and event information with your family and friends via email or text.
The new version of Yahoo Mail also features News notifications for the latest headlines.
Note that these new features in the Yahoo Mail app are available in the U.S. only.
