Getting Stuff Done
April 28, 2015

We all lead busy lives and wear multiple hats: work, family, friends, kids, and fun. Technology can provide convenient tools to help us stay on task and organized. Here are my top five go to apps that make a difference in daily life and keep me in the zone.

CalendarWeekCal or Fantastical. If I don’t know where to go and when, my day is shot. I put everything for life and work in my calendar. Whether it’s actual client sessions, prep time for work or speaking engagements, writing time, or dinner with friends it all goes into the calendar. It’s the only way to honestly know what is on my plate for the day. My favorite calendar to use for all of my devices is currently in a state of flux. Both of these apps are top notch and provide a broader range of features than iCal.

NotesEvernote. Why does everyone love Evernote? Because it is an amazing app that you can integrate into every aspect of work or play. Save Web pages, articles, make notes for brainstorming, forward emails you need to keep for reference, and so much more. Evernote for business allows you to have complete privacy and control over all information uploaded into Evernote.

To Do: Wunderlist. Sometimes you just need to create a clean crisp list with nothing else. Wunderlist is just that.

OrganizeDropbox. Virtual filing cabinet, with the ability to share folders, send links, and collaborate.

Password Management: 1Password. Go-to app that stores all login information, credit cards, and more. It also creates identity profiles for auto fill on your mobile device. With the latest iOS devices you can set up 1Password to launch with Touch ID for even quicker and easier access and use.

Each of these apps are integral to my daily workflow on the go. Setting a routine that incorporates use of these tools has increased my productivity. I no longer struggle to find where I put things, and have the time to prepare and attend to the details that are important on a daily basis. What tools are you using? Let me know in the comments below.
