Apple Watch only game Runeblade receives it first major update
Runeblade, a fantasy adventure game only playable on the Apple Watch, has just received its first major update with the move to version 1.0.7.
Along with the addition of dynamic map content, gamers can now take advantage of “The Desolation Narrative” after the battle of Dol Goroth in level 100. In the additional content, players will watch the world burn as the wrath of Arai devastates the Cursed Shores.
Developer Everywear Games has also added new monsters, lore artwork, magical “artefacts,” treasure, and more.
Here’s an interactive preview of the game from our sister site WatchAware. The site also has previews of each of the more than 4,800 watch apps available to download.
As you can see, Runeblade is a casual take on the action and adventure genre. It looks really great, even on the small screen of the watch, and can easily be played for just a few minutes at a time.
Runeblade can be downloaded now on your iPhone for free from the App Store. While all the action takes place on the watch, the iPhone app offers the Black Market for purchasing additional tools, a Magic Store, and Library. The Lore Keepers area also provides more information on items you can use throughout the game.
Even though I’m usually not a big role-playing game fan, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Runeblade. Definitely check it out if you’re an Apple Watch owner.
