Thanks to the leaked Apple HomePod firmware, plenty of Apple secrets have been uncovered, especially about the upcoming “iPhone 8.”
The biggest discovery has been the apparent confirmation that Apple’s next flagship device will include an infrared face unlock capability called BiometricKit. The firmware also includes what appears to be the official icon of the iPhone 8.
The firmware also shows Cupertino’s new handset could have a screen size of 1,125 pixels by 2,436 pixels. That’s the screen size reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted back in February.
The iPhone 8 is likely to arrive this fall alongside the so-called “iPhone 7s” and “iPhone 7s Plus.” The Siri-enabled HomePod, first announced in June, will launch in December priced at $349.
