The rear camera on the 2019 iPhone could be taking a big step up. According to a new report from the Taiwan Daily News, Apple could introduce at least one model next year with a three-lens rear camera.
The report didn’t offer much information about the additional third lens, only saying it would offer 5x zoom. Currently, the iPhone X two-lens system provides 2x optical and 10x digital zoom.
It’s unknown how Apple could use the third lens, but it would definitely lead to better image quality.
A current Android phone on the market, Huawei P20, has a three-lens system and can capture up to 40-megapixel images.
