Cryptogram Round taunts you to decipher the quote
Okay puzzle fans, when was the last time you sat down with a cryptogram? These perplexing puzzles of deciphering messages have been around for many years. A new brain-teaser called Cryptogram Round challenges you to solve the puzzles full of quotes.
Pick your letters
Tap on any spot in the puzzle where you believe you know the correct letter and then just choose it from the game keyboard. You can delete letters if you change your mind and use hints if you get stuck.
Zoom and letter count
Recently added, you can pinch to zoom in and out on the puzzle. You can also tap and hold anywhere on the screen to receive a letter count showing how many times each is used in the puzzle.
Simple settings
Select Menu and then Options to enable or disable the game sounds, incorrect guess count, letter frequency count, shake to clear, and pinch to zoom. The game works well in both landscape and portrait views.
Cryptogram Round is a terrific game for fans of the word puzzle genre. As someone who used to go through books of these as a kid, this digital version is a fun way to get back to cryptograms.
While the game was just released on March 17, it has already received a nice update. For those of you who already downloaded the game, these are the mentioned features that were added:
- Shake to start a new puzzle
- Pinch to zoom
- Count for letter frequency
- Option to disable sounds
The game is available for free on the App Store. There are in-app purchase options for additional hints, more rounds, and a package that includes both.
