Nike Announces 'Day to Night' Apple Watch Band Collection
The special Day to Night Apple Watch band collection arrives soon.
A month after releasing a special-edition Apple Watch, Nike has introduced four new bands for the wearable device. The arrival coincides with the June 1st launch of the Nike Air Vapormax Flyknit “Day to Night” Collection.
Celebrating runners “whenever they choose to run,” the “Day to Night” collection features four sneakers in colors that match the time of day.
As Nike explains:
Each of the colors is inspired by a shade of the sky, from dawn to dusk, and allows runners to – for the first time – make a statement by matching their Apple Watch Nike+ bands to their footwear.
Like other Nike Sport Bands, the four new ones are made with a flexible fluoroelastomer material that is lightweight and perforated for ventilation and sweat management.
In April, NikeLabs introduced a limited-edition Space Gray Series 2 Apple Watch with an exclusive Light Bone/Black band. That watch quickly was only sold through Nike and quickly sold out.
Originally launched back in September, the Apple Watch Nike+ offers exclusive Siri commands and watch faces. While the bands were originally only available on the Apple Watch Nike+, they can now be purchased separately from Apple.
The four new Nike Sport Bands that make up the Day to Night Apple Watch band collect are priced at $49 each and available starting June 1 on the Nike website and at select Nike retail stores. They’ll arrive later in the month through Apple, select Apple Authorized Resellers, and select specialty stores and department stores.
There’s been no word on whether Apple Watch Nike+ users will see a software update that will allow Nike watch faces that match the four new band colors.
The Nike Air Vapormax Flyknit “Day to Night” Collection goes on sale on June 1 beginning at 10 a.m. EDT from the Nike website. Each pair of sneakers is priced at $190.
