Facebook Heads to the Copy Machine Again With Snapchat-Like Messenger Day
Facebook is at it again. The social media giant has just announced that its new Messenger Day feature is rolling out worldwide to iOS users. Strikingly similar to Snapchat, it allows Messenger users to share photos and videos customized with frames, effects, and stickers.
Tons of effects
Any photo or video added to your day will be viewable for 24 hours.
Rolled out on a limited basis late last year, the feature allows users to share photos and videos with friends and family in real-time. The media can also be spruced up with more than 5,000 frames, effects, and stickers.
You can choose who can see the photos and videos, and anything added will automatically disappear after 24 hours. Along with viewing the results, anyone you communicate on Messenger can respond back.
If you’re interested in using Messenger Day, make sure you’ve updated the app to the most recent recent. After opening Messenger, select the camera highlighted with a sun. You can also select the “Add to your day” button located at the top of your inbox.
After capturing a video or photo, select the smiley face icon on the top of the page to add effects. Once the photo or video is perfect, you can add it to a day, save to the Camera Roll, and also send to a specific person or group.
To customize who sees the photos or videos, select the More icon and then choose one of two options – Everyone Except or Custom. Anything shared can also be deleted if you choose.
Messenger is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
