HomeCam 2 is a Better Way to Manage Your HomeKit Cameras

February 20, 2020

Cameras compatible with Apple’s HomeKit have become more popular thanks to a growing number of options and lower prices.

If you have multiple cameras in and around your home, you probably use Apple’s Home app to view the video. But HomeCam for HomeKit offers a unique feature by providing a way to see multiple live video feeds on a single screen.

And the app has gotten even better with the move to a completely redesigned version 2.0.

The biggest addition is an Auto Cycle feature. You can endlessly cycle different cameras to turn your iPhone, iPad, and even Apple TV into a security monitor or to monitor a young child. The app is also available on Apple Watch, but you can only view one live feed at a time with the small screen.

Another great feature of the app is the ability to see data from other HomeKit sensors like the temperature. And the update provides support for more sensor types.

You can also take a quick look at up to two cameras using a redesigned Today widget.

HomeCam for HomeKit can be downloaded now on the App Store for $4.99. Anyone with multiple HomeKit compatible cameras in their home should definitely give the app a try as it offers an experience light years ahead of the stock Home app for managing different video feeds.

And if you’re interested, HomeCam developer Aaron Pierce also offers three other HomeKit related apps – HomePass, HomeScan, and HomeRun.
