Wait Times for iPhone Battery Replacements Are Getting Longer

Apple's Ups & Downs
February 27, 2018

According to a new check from a Barclays analyst (via 9to5Mac), wait times for $29 iPhone battery replacements are actually increasing.

Mark Moskowitz from the firm made calls to Apple Stores has found that current wait time for a battery replacement is now around 3-4.5 weeks. At least one Apple Store wait is 9-10 weeks, more than two months.

Demand for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus battery replacements are apparently driving the longer wait times.

The battery replacement could affect iPhone sales this year, according to the firm.

Anyone with an eligible iPhone can receive a $29 battery replacement until the end of 2018.

And starting with iOS 11.3, currently in beta testing, Apple has added a new Battery Health section. The software should be available to the public this spring.
