The Latest Toy From Sphero is a Chatty and App-Enabled Spider-Man
Sphero is on a roll. Most well-known for its line of robotic toy balls, the company has just unveiled its second new product in less than a month. Teaming up with Marvel, the voice-interactive Spider-Man is like a snarky Amazon Alexa and more.
Clocking in at a little less than six inches tall, the app-enabled toy is packed with technology. Thanks to built-in Wi-Fi, you can interact with the toy on fun adventures where you battle the web crawler’s most notorious villains. Each decision will determine how the journey plays out.
And the wireless feature will allow for new missions, games, stories, jokes, and other content updates.
When not battling bad guys, you can press the Spider-Man logo to interact with the speaker and hear and see his trademark with fully-animated LCD eyes and motion detection.
Away from its charging base, the toy can be used for up to two hours before needing more juice. The companion Spider-Man app is required to set up the toy, adjust settings, and view tips.
The Spider-Man toy retails for $149.99 and can be ordered now directly from Sphero’s site or Amazon.com.
