April 8, 2020

Watchsmith wants to add a new level of customization to your Apple Watch.

A New Look for Apple Watch

A New Look for Apple Watch

Developer David Smith has previously released a whole host of great apps that work With Apple Watch like Pedometer++, Sleep++, Activity++, and more. But his latest project focuses on providing dynamic complications.

All of the customization work is done on the companion iPhone app. You’ll see all of the different watch faces where you can place the complications.

Then it’s time to dive in and further personalize each complication with font, color, hand type and location. Then you can select what is displayed when using time-based triggers.

For example, you can choose to see the weather first thing in the morning and then switch to the calendar when at the office. At the end of the day, you can see activity progress to make sure all of the rings are filled.

The watch app itself also features a number of different utilities.

While there is a bit of a learning curve to get started with the app, Smith has created a powerful way to better customize an Apple Watch.

Instead of having to manually change watch faces or complications throughout the day, the app can show you what information you need at the best time. I’m excited to see how the app progresses in future updates.

You can download Watchsmith now on the iPhone for free.

While most of the functions and features can be used in the free version, there is a subscription for $1.99 per month or $19.99 yearly. That provides access to hosted data sources, which currently includes weather and tides, and exclusive complication styles.
