舞台は現代の日本。普通の高校生として生活していた永井圭は、ある日トラックに轢かれ一度は死亡してしまうが、生き返る。実は、圭は人ならざる存在・亜人であった。日本では極秘に亜人に対して、非人道的な実験を行っていた。圭は人間による苛烈な差別や、亜人コミュニティの過酷な洗礼をうけながらも、生きる術を探していく。
