自广东省2016年启动了南粤古驿道保护利用工作以来，越来越多人通过各种渠道了解、认识古驿道，并前往古驿道游览，在改善农村人居环境，促进乡村振兴、精准扶贫、提升文化自信发挥了重要作用。
2018年，南粤古驿道推出官方移动客户端，旨在通过移动互联网进一步宣传和推广南粤古驿道历史文化游径，扬岭南优秀文化，助力南粤古驿道保护利用工作向纵深发展。客户端为广大游客提供南粤古驿道相关资讯、旅游导览和足迹记录，为注册用户提供赛事报名、打卡记录等功能。
