晋城博物馆为国家二级博物馆，晋城市爱国主义教育基地，是一座集文物收藏、科学研究、陈列展览、社会教育与文化交流为一体的综合性博物馆。
晋城博物馆占地面积1.6公顷，建筑面积1万余平方米，共有四层10个展厅。四楼和三楼是我馆的基本陈列《晋城古代建筑艺术》、《晋城古代文明》展，二楼的两个展览分别是《煤铁之乡》和《山西古代青铜艺术》，一楼是临时展区。
