熱帯魚(ねったいぎょ)とは、観賞魚の形態の一つである。元来は熱帯地域に生息し、鑑賞目的に飼育する魚類を指す。そしてそれらの魚類を鑑賞目的で飼育する行為を単に熱帯魚と称する場合もある。その範囲の拡大から、熱帯域以外の地域に生息する魚類をこう呼ぶ例もある。熱帯地域の魚類の飼育であることから温帯である日本では屋外で飼育することは稀で、ほとんどが屋内での飼育となる。
