App Store Description

This business calculator was written by a veteran finance professor (Ph.D. finance), - and former exclusive finance trainer, worldwide, to Apple - to extend the performance of traditional time value of money (TVM) calculators, so that they are applicable to real-world situations.

Beyond the five TVM buttons typically included on traditional handheld financial calculators (PV, FV, PMT, N and R), this calculator also includes a sixth button: a G-Button (patent pending), for analyzing the growth rate of an annuity stream, and a seventh button: an infinity-button (patent pending) for analyzing perpetuities (with N = infinity).

Collectively, the five TVM buttons are extended to seven TVM buttons, providing the name: "7Button business calculator". Additional information is available at 7Button.com.

By including a G-Button, the calculator can analyze real-world scenarios in the face of price inflation. Unlike all other calculators, it can analyze any annuity stream in real and/or nominal terms. Toggling the calculator between an annuity-due and a regular annuity requires only ONE keystroke (not six - as is common).

Unlike other calculators which only show one of the five (5) variables at any time, this calculator shows all 6 of 6 - at all times - building intuition, because the entire problem is always displayed.

The layout is simple. No "2nd" button is needed. Ten storage/memory registers (STO-0 to STO-9) are provided to assist in multi-step computations. An EEX button makes entering large values simple (1.2 EEX 6 gives 1,200,000).

The calculator is also utilized in the textbook, Mastering the Fundamentals of Finance. Building Skills and Intuition, - first published in 2021 by Cognella, and initially adopted for use by Penn State, Northwestern, and Cal Poly.
