Two prestigious authors:

Michel Foucher is a geographer and diplomat, an essayist and a great traveller. He is Director of Studies and Research at the Institute for Higher National Defence Studies (since 2010) and Professor of applied geopolitics at Ecole Normale Supérieure (graduate school for advanced studies, Paris) (since 2007). He served as the French Ambassador to Latvia (2002-2006), adviser to the French Foreign Minister (1997-2002), head of the Policy Planning Staff of the Foreign Ministry (1999-2002) and special envoy to the Balkans and the Caucasus (1999). He was then Ambassador at large for European Issues (2007). He is also advisor the African Union Commission.
He is co-editor of the Schuman Report on the State of the European Union (6th edition in 2012 at Lignes de repères and 3rd edition in English with Springer, Berlin).

Pascal Orcier is a cartographer. Graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Lyon, he holds a PhD in Geography. He is a teaching assistant at the University of Lyon 3 Jean Moulin. He has published an atlas entitled La Lettonie en Europe (Latvia in Europe, Zvaigzne ABC/Belin, 2005) and is a contributor to other publications about the EU.
