What is it about?

A Happier You is a 7-week program designed to teach people how to increase feelings of happiness in their lives. Research shows that the happier we are, the better we take care of ourselves and our health. Feelings of happiness are also linked to solving problems more effectively, enjoying a greater sense of well-being, and experiencing less depression. We also tend to spread our happiness to those around us, including family, friends, and neighbors. Each week of the program has a different happiness theme: positive events, accomplishments, personal strengths, gratitude, humor, kindness, and love. The program asks that you complete different happiness activities each week to work out your "happiness muscles." While "A Happier You" was developed for groups, you can choose to read about each week's topics and complete the exercises on your own. We do think that sharing your happiness in a group setting may help you get more out of the program, since group sharing can multiply those good feelings while connecting you in a meaningful way to others who have similar goals. This program requires approval for you to access by "A Happier You" staff member and is not a substitute for psychotherapy with a licensed professional. To request admission to the program, you can email help@ahappieryou.org. If you are feeling suicidal or that you might harm others, please pick up a phone and dial 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
