What is it about?
Aagaaz is an Urdu word that signifies a new beginning. A socio-political venture, we aim to reinstate democracy as what it was intended to be – the people’s rule. Our work targets the middle and upper classes of urban Indian society who, like every citizen of the country, are hoping for change but have distanced themselves from the political system which lies at its roots. Faith in the fact that politicians are just our representatives in the government has been lost. We believe that perceptions can be transformed and barriers can be broken once the citizens are given the opportunity to be a part of and witness change happening with the government. This will not only build a more transparent and accountable system, but will also break barriers in society when everyone joins hands towards a shared, humanistic vision.
