AASTP-1: QD Companion App

This is an upgraded version of the Standard Edition of the Quantity Distance (QD) Companion App, which is now aligned with NATO Manual AASTP-1 Edition C Version 1 (released on March 23). The app is designed to facilitate quick ‘one-on-one’ PES to ES QD assessments for above-ground storage scenarios.

Enhancements over the Standard Edition include:

- Data management functionality to record, edit, and save assessments.
- The ability to adjust Hazard Division density values to reflect actual holdings.
- Integration of consequence analysis (injury and damage threshold distances) based on estimated HD1.1 NEQ quantity.
- The return of logistic disposal range distances calculations based on AASTP-1 and ITAG documents.  


Background

The primary purpose of AASTP-1 (Manual of NATO Guidelines for the Storage of Military Ammunition and Explosives) is to establish conventional military ammunition and explosives safety principles and guidelines for NATO Nations. The manual is an open document without security classification or specific releasability instructions. This is in the interests of promoting ammunition and explosives safety worldwide and harmonisation of NATO requirements with other international explosives safety standards.
