Abu Dhabi Sailing & Yacht Club was established in 2011 to serve as the new home of modern & traditional Sailing in Abu Dhabi. The yacht club will include all the infrastructure & facilities necessary to host events & to further the development of sailing in Abu Dhabi. The club will be home to large variety of water-sports including dhow sailing, yachting, dinghy sailing, surfing, rowing & kayaking. Throughout the season we will host events for these sports on the local, regional & international level. The club will include training facilities to develop the sailing & rowing sports to the highest level. In close cooperation with the government, local schools & universities, we will promote water-sports to all national & international residents of Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Sailing & Yacht Club will also allow families to enjoy the social aspects of water-sports. By building close relationships with foreign yacht club, we hope to support the local & international sailing community by providing them with the best facilities.

ازدهرت سباقات الرياضات الشراعية الحديثة في الآونة الأخيرة وأصبحت من اشهر الرياضات التي تمارس حالياً من قبل كثير من الشباب والبالغين. تتميز هذه السباقات بالمتعة والإثارة واختلاف أنواعها واستخداماتها، وتعتمد على مهارة التحكم في الشراع وتوجيهه، والتركيز على مسار القارب. وتشمل هذه السباقات القوارب الشرعية الحديثة بالإضافة إلى قوارب التجديف بمختلف أنواعها مثل الكاياك والكانو وقوارب التنين"دراجون" التي تعتمد على القوة الجسدية والدقة والتناغم في العمل بين طاقم القارب. كما تتضمن السباقات الحديثة أيضاً المنافسات المختلفة من ركوب الأمواج والتزلج الشراعي "السيرف سكي" والتزلج بالألواح. ويقدم نادي أبوظبي للرياضات الشراعية واليخوت الدعم لجميع الفئات العمرية التي تقبل على ممارسة هذه الرياضات من خلال تدربيهم وفق معايير ومستويات تمكنهم من المنافسة في البطولات المحلية والأولمبية، إلى جانب ما ينظمه النادي من سباقات في هذه النوعية ومن أهمها:
