When taking your selfie, pay close attention to the lighting. The better the selfie looks, and the more it looks like you, the better the matches will be.

The best selfies are taken outdoors, in the sunlight on a hazy day. Avoid a really bright background. Try to get your face evenly lit. Open your eyes wide. While you can take a selfie indoors, when it's dark out, or in other tricky conditions it's likely the matches won't be as good, so, try to get outside in the daylight.
