The IOA Self-Help Tools consist of breathing and body routines created to help each user relax and reduce tension when faced with a situation that may cause fear and emotional distress. The IOA tools can reduce anxiety before, during and after each lesson in the pool, or ANYtime you are in or around water. This includes everything from bathrooms, changing rooms, swimming pools, rivers, lakes & the sea.

The IOA aquatic mindfulness tools can be used at any point you become physically or emotionally tense or just need to relax. If this does happen, you should stop any activities and by using these techniques you can calm your mind and body.



When learning to overcome aquaphobia, any stressed swimming technique will tend to be poor technique. When in combination with emotional fear and tension, it will inhibit the development of your swimming abilities and happiness in the water.



The content within this App has been taken from the IOA App “A swimming pool in my pocket”, available on Google and Apple App stores and has been designed to be used for quick access whenever you need them.



This is a stand alone App that can be used to support the actual lessons in the pool or can just be used by anyone who independently wants to use the content to aid stress reduction and encourage relaxation.



As you go through this App you will find all of the items you need for breathing and body relaxation techniques. Also 4 mediation videos and our jewel in the crown, the Kolb collection. Especially designed to ease your aquaphobia when undertaking activities in the water. Created with the IOA by Laruen Kolb, a highly respected Clinical Hypnotherapist. Laruen's has made 11 voiceovers for each activity we ask you to do in the water. They are incredibly calming and help you acclimatise to each action. The more you practice them on this app the more it benefits you in your actual lessons in the water.



Please work your way through the app playing each video and looking at each of the "how to" slides. You will soon get use to how this (easy to use IOA) system works. Pick the ones you like the most and practice them, moving on to the other techniques as you wish to. You can even make your own up.
