App Store Description

The aMaze app is designed to help trained facilitators run the "Electric Maze" management simulation/exercise at business schools and in various training programs worldwide. The exercise is currently used in a variety of MBA and executive education classrooms. It is a team-based exercise to teach insights about the social and psychological challenges facing employees who must engage in collaborative learning in uncertain contexts (see https://cb.hbsp.harvard.edu/cbmp/product/604046-PDF-ENG for more detail).

The goal of the iPad app is to automate some of the manual work currently required when the exercise is run in the classroom. The app also effortlessly provides automated, extremely detailed analytics of the exercise (e.g., percent of time each participant moves forward or backward, individual metrics on penalties and successes, amount of time each individual spends on the maze, etc.) for use by the facilitator during the debrief immediately upon completion of the exercise. The app includes a free demo, but if a facilitator wants to use it for a full exercise (typically with 10-15 participants per maze), then the facilitator needs to use the in-app purchase for the number of participants in the exercise.
